Glidden Volunteer Fire Department

The Glidden Volunteer Fire Department was organized in the late 19th century and has been providing fire protection for the Glidden area ever since.  In the 1960's the Four Town Fire Assn. was formed the the Glidden Volunteer Fire Department took on the responsiblity of manning the the new territory which now included four towns.  The Four Town Fire Protection Assn. owns and maintains the facilities and equipment used by the fire department.  The department and Assn. are funded through the Towns of Jacobs, Gordon, Shanagolden and Peeksville along with fund raisers held by the Firemen and the Auxillary.
