With 70 lakes located in Ashland County, there are numerous opportunities for fishing year-round in Glidden and surrounding areas.

HUNTING

DEER HUNTING

Northern Wisconsin offers multiple different seasons to hunt white-tailed deer. Hunters can try their luck with a bow, a crossbow, a rifle, a shotgun, and/or a muzzleloader.

The black bear is one of the more popular animals of the Glidden area. Their healthy population offers a superb chance during a hunt.

SMALL GAME

Ruffed grouse are on the top of the list when it comes to small game hunting in Northern Wisconsin. Click the link for more information on them and other small game options.

After being reintroduced in 1976, the turkey population has been steadily growing in Wisconsin through the years.

Swimming

Wood Brother's Gordon Lake Beach is located a few miles outside of Glidden. 

The beach is a favorite gathering place for local families, offering swimming, fun in the sand, and use of park grills. 

The Gordon Lake Fishing Pier and Boat Landing are located adjacent to the beach.

Canoe/Kayak Adventures

Enjoy canoeing or kayaking on the Chippewa River.
