The Ryan Thimm Handicap Reserve was formed in 2012 with the goal to help businesses and organizations of the four townships (Jacobs, Gordon, Shanagolden, and Peeksville) enhance, improve, or develop handicap accessibility to their facilities.
Since the start, the reserve has helped many local businesses as well as local parks and recreation areas.
Representing their lone fundraiser, the RTHR hosts their annual Walk-Run-Roll on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The event consists of a 2 mile walk-run-roll. Proceeds from this event go back into making the community more handicap accessible and elderly friendly.
The 10th Annual RTHR/GADC Walk-Run-Roll was held Saturday, May 28th, 2022 at the Marion Park. The weather was not very cooperative, as it rained pretty much the entire time. In spite of the dreary weather conditions, we still had about 60 participants for the race.
The winners of the 2 mile race were: (Overall) First Place – Finley Peterson (19:52), Second Place – Mike Branson (19:53), and Third Place – Jesse Peterson (20:30); and kids (12 & under) First & Second Place (tie) – Campbell & Beckett Branson (28:20), and Third Place – Connor Denzine (37:41)
A lot of familiar faces returned to show their support and we also had a nice crowd of new participants. The RTHR and the GADC members would like to thank everyone that participated in the race. Everyone did a great job and we hope you will all join us again next year. We will put an order in for better weather…
